Another entry for the Make It Monday #16 challenge.
The requirement is to make a sympathy card, and as you look at my card, you’ll clearly see that I did not use the word sympathy anywhere on it. I guess I consider a lovely little Thinking of You card as a nice way to convey condolences as well, particularly if sending condolences a tad late. Maybe it’s not quite what they expected. Just my personal preference, I suppose.
Here is my card:
The base is PTI Vintage Cream cardstock. Then a layer of PTI Kraft cardstock which was edge inked with Cream White Cat’s Eye ink, and then PTI Hawaiian Shores cardstock which was cut on two sides with a blade that was included with my Purple Cow paper trimmer.
Next, a layer of PTI Aqua Mist cardstock which was also edge inked in Cream White ink, impressed with the Tin Types Impression Plate, and then die cut with the largest Beautiful Blooms II #1 die at the bottom right. The sentiment is from the Through The Trees stamp set, stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with a white powder onto Hawaiian Shores cardstock that was cut using the Double-Ended Banner die and edge inked in Cream White. I lined up the Banner die-cut to match the cut line from the Beautiful Blooms die-cut opening.
I used two blossoms from the Sending You stamp set, stamped onto a portion of Vintage Cream cardstock and underlayed beneath the BB opening. The flower center is an American Crafts pearl brad. The top Aqua Mist block was raised with dimensional adhesive for 3D effect.
Thanks for stopping by today. 😉
