Blocks With Flowers

Two last little miscellaneous cards, before I potentially drop off the face of the crafty earth again.  No challenges for these, just freestyle creativity.

I took a couple of my pre-colored images and tried the blocking that I’ve seen and loved on other cards around blogland.

Coloring on Kraft

On our previously-mentioned vacation, I specifically took some images stamped onto kraft cardstock in order to practice coloring with my Prismacolor pencils.  I had seen some of these around blogland and loved the look of the colors on kraft.

Here are two cards created with two different images I completed:

This lovely image is from the Standing Tall stamp set by Annabelle Stamps, and the sentiment is¬†from Papertrey Ink’s Boutique Borders – Birthday set.¬† I tried to fit this card into the Retro Sketches #82 design,¬†hope you can see it there.¬† I think I’ll submit it to this week’s¬†Seize the Birthday, also.

The image on this card is from the Wildflowers stamp set by The Craft’s Meow, and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink’s Think Big series.¬† And I think I’ll throw this one into the ColourQ #208 challenge as well.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you all have a great weekend!

Dynamic Duos 21

Here today with my fourth creation as a guest designer for the Dynamic Duos, Challenge #21.

Have you noticed all the green in this month’s challenges so far??!¬† This is 4 weeks in a row with some kind of green in the combo – and I have LOVED it!¬† Green is my second favorite color (next to white), so this has been a fun month for me to be ‘Guesting’ with the Dynamos. ūüėČ

Here is what I came up with for this monochromatic green scheme:

This is another card that makes me happy.¬† All that beautiful GREEN, with a little lace, polka dots, stitched ribbon, and a little handmade crochet flower.¬† I’ve been using this polka-dot green DP for a few weeks – I just can’t put it down.¬† I guess I’ll have to sooner or later – if I’m using it so much, it’ll be gone soon!

Two¬†of the stamps on this card are new supplies being used.¬† Can’t beat that!

Make sure you stop by to see what all the fantastic Dynamos have created!

Thanks for stopping by today. ūüėČ

Fab Friday 2

I am trying the new Fab Friday challenge, Week #2 specifically.

I¬†tried a little label layering for the focal point and used my new houndstooth embossing folder for some background texture.¬† I think I misinterpreted the colors, though.¬† I don’t have any Sahara Sand cardstock or ink for reference, and my monitor made it look like a light grey.¬† So I used some Soft Stone cardstock instead.¬† But now I’m seeing more of a tan color on other creations.¬† Hopefully the difference isn’t too great.

Thanks for stopping by today. ūüėČ

Sketchbook Saturday

Hubby and Little Man had a fathers-and-sons camping trip on Friday night, and then they went to the local college football game on Saturday.  So it was just me and my princesses for most of the weekend.  We went for ice cream Saturday afternoon, ordering 3 different treats and then sharing the delights!

I had some free time to myself Friday night after the girls were tucked in bed, so I watched Pride & Prejudice while I organized my craft supplies.  I also had a bit of time to create on Saturday, so I grabbed the sketch from Sketchbook Saturday #76 and went to work on a card using a few of the neglected supplies I came across while shuffling through things.

I found… the polka-dot DP in my stash of PTI papers, the stamps and dies for the Larger Than Life stamp set, a discarded box of Teddy Graham¬†crackers to make the frame and some glitter to decorate it, a new stamp set from Craft’s Meow for the sentiment, and a few Copic-colored butterflies that have been in my ‘scrap box’ for a few months now.

Thanks for stopping by today. ūüėČ

CR84FN and CAS-ual Friday Sunflowers

I caught a glimpse of the CR84FN #58 combo, and for some weird reason, I wanted to give it a try (despite the yellow – LOL!).¬† I think that maybe I just got tired of not finding time to create, and finally had the gumption to make time for it, not matter what.¬† It was nice that Hubby chose to spend most of the day keeping the children entertained for me so I could get that time in. ūüėČ

And as per Marybeth’s recommendation, I am turning this in for the CAS-ual Friday #61 challenge as well, to use strips of color or patterned paper.¬† (Thanks for looking out for me, Marybeth!) ūüėČ

I saw beautiful Simple Sunflowers on a card over at my friend Lisa’s blog, and that made me want to use them on a card, immediately.¬† They really are one of my favorite flower stamps.¬† Here is what I created:

I used some of my new PTI pattern papers for the banners, and also a new Craft’s Meow stamp for the sentiment.

The best part about this card is that it only took about 20 minutes for me to make – which fits into my little schedule quite nicely!

Thanks for stopping by today. ūüėČ

A Giveaway of Sorts

I recently placed an order with The Craft’s Meow, and they sent me the free stamp set that is being given away with $50 purchases.¬† I didn’t request it, but it was sent to me anyway.¬† And while I greatly appreciate the gesture and the indication of thoughtful customer service that it is, the stamp set is just not my style.

Click on image to view this stamp set at The Craft’s Meow web store.

Since I would prefer that this¬†stamp set have a loving home with someone who might use it, rather than have it sit unopened at my house for a life of boredom….¬†¬† I would like to offer this set to anyone in the United States reading this blog who would like it.¬† If you’d like it, please leave me a comment.¬† (I’m sorry to anyone international, but my circumstances only allow for shipping in the U.S.)

I’ll leave the post up until Friday night at 11:59 p.m. EST.¬† If I only receive one comment of interest by that time, I’ll send it right out to that person.¬† If more than one person wants it, I will do a random draw from the comments and send it to the winner of the draw.

If there are no comments in that time frame, I’ll list it on my ‘Stuff for Sale or Free‘ page until it finds a home.¬† But I’d really like to send it on to someone as soon as possible.

So, there you go!

Hope you’re all having a fun Summer so far!¬† Hopefully I’ll be able to check in here sometime soon with a card, right??¬† Right. ūüėČ
