Color Throwdown 481

Hello, friends.

I am thrilled to be guest designing today for the Color Throwdown #481 challenge.

481

Isn’t this a lovely color combination?  So very pretty!

I don’t have any inks that match these colors exactly, so I went with what I have that was close and created this card:

ToY-019-01

While I had the You’ve Been Framed dies out on my desk for that card, I went ahead and used them for a couple of additional cards.  One, with a different flower color:

ToY-020-01

And another color combo using the supplies from my previous card that were still hanging around:

BDAY-023-01

Thank you to all those at Color Throwdown for the opportunity to be a guest today – I had some much needed creative time while on assignment, and that is time which I am always grateful to have!

And thank you all for stopping in today.

Sunday’s Papertrey Ink Anniversary challenge was to use dies only, no stamps.  That is a difficult challenge, for me.  I absolutely LOVE dies.  In fact, I love them so much that I have far more dies in my stash than stamps.  But when restricted to ONLY using dies…..?

Well, here is what my “Great Brain” conjured up for me:

BDAY-021-01

Using my Shaped Sayings and Brushed Off Rectangle dies for the first time here, in addition to my Sheer Basics vellum paper that I purchased during that crazy paper sale last year.  Oh my goodness, we’d better not talk about the ridiculous hoard of paper I have a result of that! LOL.

Moving on…

This card is going into the linkup for the Papertrey Ink Day 7 challenge.

My teenage daughter has dubbed this card THE perfect card, so I must have done something right – LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Friday’s Papertrey Ink Anniversary challenge was to use a stamp set from the 2018 retiring stamps list.  I chose to work with the Framed Out #12 stamp set to create this card:

BDAY-018-01

I also used some striped paper from the Clipsters Make-It-Market Kit and also the “happy” die from the One Liners die collection, both of which I had never used to this point.

This card is going into the linkup for the Papertrey Ink Day 5 challenge.

Thursday’s Papertrey Ink Anniversary challenge was to use florals on a project.  Not too difficult for me to do, since I feel like I generally use florals on most of my projects.  Maybe I should branch out a little.  Here is my project, anyway:

BDAY-017-01

I used some of my pre-stamped images from the Gran’s Garden stamp set.  I do love the florals in this set – so fun to mix & match colors, so modern and fun!  I also really love the Pen & Ink stamp set.  The sentiments are a great mix of occasions and sizes, but all of them in the same fabulous font.

This card is going into the linkup for the Day 4 Challenge.

Wednesday’s Papertrey Ink Anniversary challenge was to take a card made in the past and turn it into a new project.  I have several very old cards tucked away in a box, where they just hide out from society in sweet, peaceful slumber.  I pulled out 3 or 4 of them – the ones most in need of a facelift – and finally decided on this little gem from all the way back in 2011:  (And don’t you just love all that amazing sponging work?!)

ToY-014-01

After a bit of contemplation and a little paper surgery to remove the focal image, I transformed it into this fresh new look:

ToY-017-01

And do you know what?  I think that when I made that old card, it was the one and only time I have ever pulled out that Iconic Images stamp set to use it.  I could just FEEL the joy oozing from these sweet little stamps as I pulled them out yesterday to ink up the sentiment again!  They were calling out to me, “Don’t put us away yet!  Please give us ink!”

I really do need to use these lovely images soon, bless their hearts.

This card is going into the linkup for the Day 3 challenge:

A Butterfly

It is handy to have a stash of previously colored images – they whip up into a card fairly quickly!  Here is yet another of my pre-colored images that made it onto a card:

ToY-014-01It cannot really be seen, but the background behind the butterfly is embossed in a woodgrain pattern.  And the also-barely-visible thread there is gold and sparkly.

Blocks With Flowers

Two last little miscellaneous cards, before I potentially drop off the face of the crafty earth again.  No challenges for these, just freestyle creativity.

I took a couple of my pre-colored images and tried the blocking that I’ve seen and loved on other cards around blogland.
