Randomness

Well, I’m sure you can imagine how delighted I was to welcome the first day of Autumn this week. 😉  Our local meteorologist warns us of mountain snow today through Friday, possibly reaching the benches and foothills, too.  I’m always stunned by the first sighting of snow each year, but I’ve been happy to add socks and a sweater to my morning attire over the last few days!

We’ve had a busy end to the Summer and start to the new year of lessons.  I’ve not had much time for card making, and my stash of cards is surprisingly low – it could be described as quite meager at this point!  The time to create, however, is just not abundantly available right now.  A few cards have managed to surface, but time for blogging hasn’t presented itself much, either.

I did some photographing of those few cards, though, so I decided to take a little time to post them, even though I should probably be doing something else. 😉

I finally utilized my beautiful Fancy Folk Art stamp set for a little trio of cards.  Poor little stamp set, hardly getting any attention.

For our Summer vacation this year, I stamped a whole bunch of images and took along my Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils to practice some coloring.  And now I have a bunch of stamped and colored images in my stash that seem destined never to be used, for lack of time!  Ah, well.  I guess I know they’ll at least have a chance to be used in about 11 years when the children are grown up, if not anytime in the near future – LOL!

Hoppy Birthday – Clearly Besotted Stamps

First, thank you all so much for your kind comments on yesterday’s post.  I appreciate them! 😉

I’m here today with another peek at some new Clearly Besotted Stamps supplies, a stamp set called Hoppy Birthday, with coordinating dies – Yay!

BDAY-019-01

I don’t always think of creating cards for the boys, especially for the little boys!  But this stamp set makes it MUCH easier for me to whip up something along those lines!  I couldn’t resist using some ‘googly eyes’ for this little Ribb-ster.  I thought the scallop border could mimic a pond of sorts to act as home for this guy and his cute little lily pads.

I had a fun time using these stamps and dies – I’m so ‘hoppy’ to have them on hand now! 😉

Thanks for stopping by today.  Remember that you can find more samples of the new supplies and get more details about the release by visiting Stephanie’s blog.

Seize the Birthday 1 – Feminine

Isn’t it interesting how everything in life still has to continue on even though Mommy feels like she’s been hit by a semi truck??

Hmmm.

Maybe not interesting.  Maybe it should be illegal, though.

Just sayin’.

So, in between making homemade granola and homemade cinnamon rolls yesterday, and making dinner, and doing the laundry, and losing my voice to the point that no one can hear what I’m saying now unless they’re standing right stinkin’ next to me….

I made a card! 😉

For Lesley’s new Seize the Birthday challenge.  I think this challenge is a brilliant idea.  Mostly because I have a zillion in-laws, and having a ton of birthday cards on hand would be simply splendid!  But I digress.

Here is my card:

BDAY-001-01

I think this is a noble attempt, considering how I’ve been feeling the past week, and how I still feel even today.  It seems a bit unbalanced, to me, and I kept sensing that I should add something to the right side of the card, to balance out that HUGE chunk of PINK I used on the left side.  But I’ll be darned if I can’t get a single, clear, logical thought to go through my mind right now!

So this is what we get. 😉

I promised myself that I will use more of my neglected supplies this year.  And so this card was made with some There She Goes stamps that I’ve had for a long time but never used.  Aren’t they cute?  I colored them with my Copic markers and then fussy cut some to pop up on dimensional adhesive.

I’m not sure it’s all that bad.  But then again, I also believe that there is an invisible martian with a death grip on my head, so I won’t claim to be sane.

Thanks for stopping by today. 😉
