10-Minute Craft Dash 17

Whew!!

I’m not sure this challenge is for me.  Or it could just be that I chose to do my project during the lunch hour.  With 3 children around.  Who are hungry and eating lunch.  And who keep needing refills on their drinks.  Maybe I just wasn’t prepared enough.  Maybe I should have eaten all my lunch first.

Whatever the reasons (all of the above, no doubt!), this 10-Minute Craft Dash challenge really made my adrenaline go crazy!

10MCD-17-timeBut I did finish it.
In a frantic pace.
With only seconds to spare.
But no sanity intact.
Just sayin’.

And here is what I can create in less than 10 minutes, including 2 breaks to refill lunch glasses with lemonade:

Thank goodness this Tulip Border folder makes for a quick decorative background frame!  That quickity-quick Vagabond machine really came in handy for this card, too.

I used one of my Lil’ Inker Stitched Mats Rectangle dies for the focal panel, sponging the edges with some Aqua Mist ink.  Used images from the Tremendous stamp set and a sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set.  I stamped the dark flowers using Berry Sorbet ink and then ‘stamped-off’ to create the lighter-colored flowers.

Dynamic Duos #45

Today’s Dynamic Duos combo is Pretty In Pink and Regal Rose.

45

I substituted with some close matches and added a bit of neutral brown and beige, as well.  Actually, I think it looks a bit gold here.

ENC-003-01

I went with PTI’s Fine Linen color because I wanted a neutral for the leaves that was a little on the green side but not green enough to be contrary to the rules of using only the 2 designated colors.  I used my new Buckets of Love stamp set for the image and sentiment.  The three additional rising hearts are from the Sweet Baby and With All My Heart stamp sets.

I fussy cut the bunch of flowers, dotted the flower centers with a glitter pen, and then adhered the piece with foam adhesive.

Dynamic Duos #42

I am here today with my contribution to this week’s Dynamic Duos challenge, for the colors Garden Green and Daffodil Delight.

42

These colors were truly a challenge for me.  I don’t think I had one single good idea for this card.  But I knew I wanted to open my new Forever stamp set from There She Goes Stamps, so I stamped the flower image and colored it using my Copic Markers.  This card followed after much deliberation and hesitation:

Hubby said his mother would be delighted to receive this card for Mother’s Day, so that is where it will be directed in a few months.

I stamped the flowers twice and popped one set of them up with foam adhesive for a little depth.

Seize the Birthday 1 – Feminine

Isn’t it interesting how everything in life still has to continue on even though Mommy feels like she’s been hit by a semi truck??

Hmmm.

Maybe not interesting.  Maybe it should be illegal, though.

Just sayin’.

So, in between making homemade granola and homemade cinnamon rolls yesterday, and making dinner, and doing the laundry, and losing my voice to the point that no one can hear what I’m saying now unless they’re standing right stinkin’ next to me….

I made a card! 😉

For Lesley’s new Seize the Birthday challenge.  I think this challenge is a brilliant idea.  Mostly because I have a zillion in-laws, and having a ton of birthday cards on hand would be simply splendid!  But I digress.

Here is my card:

BDAY-001-01

I think this is a noble attempt, considering how I’ve been feeling the past week, and how I still feel even today.  It seems a bit unbalanced, to me, and I kept sensing that I should add something to the right side of the card, to balance out that HUGE chunk of PINK I used on the left side.  But I’ll be darned if I can’t get a single, clear, logical thought to go through my mind right now!

So this is what we get. 😉

I promised myself that I will use more of my neglected supplies this year.  And so this card was made with some There She Goes stamps that I’ve had for a long time but never used.  Aren’t they cute?  I colored them with my Copic markers and then fussy cut some to pop up on dimensional adhesive.

BDAY-001-4in1

I’m not sure it’s all that bad.  But then again, I also believe that there is an invisible martian with a death grip on my head, so I won’t claim to be sane.

Thanks for stopping by today. 😉

CAS(E) This Sketch with ColourQ

We had company for dinner tonight, and I worked off a little bit of the stress by creating a really simple card for two challenges – ColourQ #159 and CAS(E) This Sketch #2.  This is my first attempt at the CAS(E) challenge, and I did turn the sketch 180 degrees and move the sentiment a bit.

I’ll just admit right here and now, I’m not sure this card works for me.  It’s a little bit sympathy, a little bit autumn, a little bit whimsy, and who knows what else!  Hopefully it’s just that making dinner for company makes me feel a little overwhelmed, and not that this is a ridiculous card…

And, I know the CAS(E) challenge is for clean and simple creations, and I really did try to keep it clean and simple!  But amongst the day’s busy activities, I found myself sneaking back over and over again to add ‘just one more thing.’   First, a linen impression.  Then, some twine at the top.  Just a couple of rhinestones in the corner.  And, what the heck – how about a few more by the sentiment!

Meh.

Anyway, this is the first time I’ve used my There She Goes Treemendous stamp set.  And the sentiment is from a new Hero Arts set I picked up at Hobby Lobby, I think, called With Sympathy.

Thanks for stopping by today.   I hope the coming week will be a good one for you!  😉
